Myself

As kids we all had our share of dreams and aspirations and kids are often asked this question..what do you want to be when you grow up? No matter what your dreams are, once grown up - the most important question in life that one faces is if this is what it is? Where does one go from here… is this my true calling…some are happy with what they have become…some are not…some are confused…. And some just make a U turn at a point when no one expects them to do so…why?

These are the people who at some point in time want answers to questions in life…the quest is never over…these are the people who are not just being the way they are….they want to be better people and make others around them happy…

Life for Prashant Naseri wasn’t the same when he found his calling in MUSIC….

It was a U turn at a point where most of the people wouldn’t even think of giving up on a settled life..a well paying steady corporate job in a giant engineering company..parents and family to look after..yet it was a call from soul Prashant could not refuse to take...this very connection with music was his connection to soul..key to happiness…that was a start of a wonderful journey …a roller coaster ride…

The generation born in 70s is majorly influenced by Kishore Kumar, R.D.Burman.. Prashant is no exception… but music is music and has no barriers ..he also listened and studied more and more music..be it Rafisaab or MannaaDeysaab or Babuji in Marathi films…eventually to grow as a singer who could seamlessly belt out any song…but the actual journey began much later when he started getting some recognition…for the rest of the world…he is a versatile singer who can sing any song of any singer…for Prashant…this wasn’t enough…the question that was haunting him …
What is my true voice? What is my Identity?

Be it a live show or a recording …a composer is always sure as to what he wants from a singer..thats exactly what this the journey is all about…getting into the skin and character of the song..irrespective of the voice…major influence and learning in this aspect comes to Prashant from his idol Kishore Kumar…and continues to be his source of inspiration…

Where does it go from here? One of the shows in Pune where Prashant sang, Ace music arranger Mr.Kersi Lord was present…and after the show while talking to him…someone asked him…how does one get inspired or innovate..his answer was so simple but meaning was very deep..and guess that’s what it is..it was a learning to keep in mind forever…

To be number one..you have to be Odd..number one is not a even number..
To be number one you have to break rules..
But….
To break a rule you have to know the rule first….

Journey will continue…the quest may not…keep singing ..keep practicing…you will be happy forever and you will make people around you happy…

Prashant has only one line …MujheChalte Jana Hain…Bas Chalte Jana …..
